Robert V. Steele is the Director of Optoelectronics Programs at Strategies Unlimited, and is responsible for all of Strategies Unlimited’s activities in the area of optoelectronic components, for which the company has provided market research reports and consulting services for over 20 years.  Since 1994, he has supervised and co-authored 10 editions of Strategies Unlimited’s periodic report on the visible LED market, as well as reports on solid-state lighting, gallium nitride technology and markets, and the supply side of the high-brightness LED industry.

LedEngin, Inc. is a California-based solid-state lighting company specializing in ultra-bright LEDs capable of emitting 2,000+ lumens, delivering extreme flux density and industry leading reliability as well as luminous efficiency of more than 80 lumens/watt in some applications. The Lux family of replacement lamps and lighting modules provide superior quality light in directional applications equivalent to 35W and 50W halogen lamps. LedEngin also develops LED custom solutions and provides expert application support on optical, electrical and thermal management.

David Tahmassebi joined LedEngin in September 2006 as President and CEO.  Prior to joining LedEngin Mr. Tahmassebi served as EIR at WK Technology funds, a leading Taiwan based venture capital firm and lead investor of LedEngin. Prior to joining WK, Mr. Tahmassebi served as President, CEO and Co-chairman of Berkana Wireless a fabless semiconductor startup focused on CMOS RF transceivers for the cellular market.  Berkana was acquired by Qualcomm for $56M in December 2005. Previous to Berkana, Mr. Tahmassebi was co-founder, president and CEO of Resonext Communications, an 802.11 fabless semiconductor company founded in November 1999.

Telelumen LLC
is developing a solid state luminaire that acts as a playback
unit for illumination recordings. The luminaire is an illumination analog to an
iPod. Content is also being created and will be made available in an
analogous manner to iTunes. Customers are expected to be a range of 
researchers and high-end entertainment providers.

Steve Paolini first joined Hewlett Packard Optoelectronics Division in 1981.
There he held a variety of engineering and management positions in California,
Japan, and Malaysia. Later he joined Lumileds and in 2007 founded Telelumen
LLC where he is currently the CEO. He is also the CTO at Lunera Lighting Inc. He
has spoken at various conferences and universities on a variety of topics relating
to LEDs and holds four issued patents.

the co-founder and CEO ofMobileSpear, a leading start up that developed a unique
and advanced platform for the mobile operators. Eran led the company to production
and sales in Asia and Europe. Eran was also the founder and VP Business &
Development at On-Eden Ltd, a software company that was sold to Crystal Ltd.

and General Manager, Lucent Technologies. He was also the head of Business

start-ups and established businesses with valuations up to $2 billion. He is also
an inventor and holds two US patents.

Robert Walker is a principal at Sierra Ventures, a private venture capital firm
focusing its investments in information technology companies. Prior to joining
Sierra, he was CEO of BridgeLux from July 2005 to July 2007. He has also served on BridgeLux‘s Board of Directors since August 2004. In 2003 Dr.Walker founded YEBY Associates, a Silicon Valley-based consultancy specializing in the solid state lighting industry, and continues to serve as a Principal there. From 2001- 2004 he was Managing Director-US of Vincera Ventures, a US$150M venture capital fund based in Taiwan with several investments in the areas of HB LEDs and compound semiconductors. He held various marketing and sales positions including General Manager, Pacific Rim during his tenure at EMCORE Corporation, a leading provider of MOCVD equipment to the HB LED industry. He has been involved with the HB LED epitaxial industry in Taiwan, Korea and China since its inception.

Dr. Yeo founded Fusion Optix in 2003 whilst living in Cambridge, UK. His early
career, and the inspiration for Fusion Optix, was spent in the displays, aerospace
and optical networking industries. Whilst working for Nortel Networks, EADS
Astrium, and Nashua Corporation he performed in a number of senior management,
corporate venturing, sales, marketing and technical roles. Dr. Yeo is
inventor on many Fusion Optix lighting-related patents and also other new optical
technologies in the areas of backlighting for liquid crystal displays, microdisplay
projection displays and light management components. Dr. Yeo also has insider
experience of the venture capital industry, having worked for Amadeus Capital
Partners in the UK and as a consultant to several other VC and corporate investor
groups, technology companies and start-ups.

Dave Leonard founded Redwood Systems in 2008 with the driving belief that
LED lighting presented entirely new opportunities to create smart and energy optimized
commercial lighting and smart building solutions. Prior to forming Redwood,
Dave was VP and GMof Cisco System‘s Desktop Switching Business Unit (DSBU),
Cisco‘s largest and most profitable business unit with revenues reaching a $6B
annual run rate for FY08. During his career at Cisco, Dave has held several executive
management positions including: VP and GMP of the Wireless Networking
Business Unit (WNBU) and VP of Engineering for WNBU. Prior to Grand
Junction/Cisco, Dave held leadership positions at SunMicrosystems, Amdahl Corporation,
Cray Research and Hewlett-Packard. In addition to his executive role at
Redwood Systems, Dave also serves as the Executive Chairman of Agito Networks‘
Board of Directors.

Incorporated is a supplier of smart mixed-signal power management
ICs. These ICs utilize a unique combination of analog and digital circuit

Mr. Dines has spent over 30 years in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining
mSilica this year, Mr. Dines had served as President and CEO of two Bay Area
startups, Azanda Network Devices and Excess bandwidth, and managed the
latter‘s 2000 acquisition by Virata Corporation. He also served on the board of
Sand Hill Angels, a Bay Area angel investment group. Previously he spent eight
years at Cirrus Logic, where he was V.P and G.M of the mass storage business
unit. Earlier in his career,Mr. Dines held a variety of product planning and strategic
marketing roles with AMD in both the US and Europe.

Computer Corporation (CNVX). He was Vice President ofMarketing when Convex
was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 1995.

went public in 2000 and Tom helped negotiate its acquisition by PMC-Sierra for
$2.3 billion that same year. At that time, the company had reached a $64 million
run rate with quarterly growth of 40%.
Prior to QED, Tom was director of CMOS VLSI for MIPS Computer Systems.
