Presenter: Therese Lahaie

Therese Lahaie managed the custom lighting design departments for Translite Sonoma and Morrison Lighting. In that role she combined a background in glass sculpture technology with knowledge of custom lighting to translate lighting concepts into new product designs. In her current consulting role she supports lighting designers and manufacturers in the transition from incandescent to LED lighting solutions, emphasizing the aesthetic versatility and energy efficiency of LED technology. Lahaie organizes LED training workshops based on the marketing research she conducts with lighting professionals. Lahaie also trains engineers on designing lighting glass and sources glass product manufacturers.

Lahaie studied Fine Art at Emmanuel College and Glass Technology at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA. She is a sculptor using glass, low rpm motors and LED lighting, and her work has been exhibited in major galleries in New York City, Seattle and San Francisco.

This year we have added a LED Lighting Pavilion which will feature a free presentation entitled: “Cutting-Edge LED Lighting Design; Makers and Rule Breakers” - a presentation on an international group of designers and manufacturers, using LED technology to break the rules in contemporary lighting design. We will address exemplary applications of LED lighting products in residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and public art applications.

The Pavilion will also include a hands-on demo area for LED lighting drivers, dimming and controls.
