Mr. Curtis has a diverse background in lighting design, building system engineering, and programming.
In his role at Smith Group, he leverages automation and analytics to inform the design process and efficiently deliver high-performance architecture, bridging the gap between architecture and engineering. His responsibilities include cultivating knowledge network to support computational design methods; developing data-based and AI-enabled analysis and efficiency tools; and creating customized parametric workflows to meet different project needs. Before his current role at Smith Group, he was a lighting designer and a lighting and mechanical electrical intern there, and a lighting design intern with Schuler Shook. He has a B.A. and M.A. in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University, and Machine Learning Engineer and Data Analyst Nanodegrees from Udacity.
